Hazebroucq, Hubert. European Drama and Performance Studies no. 22 (2024): 207-230.

Abstract:
Many dances notated according to the Feuillet system, whether handwritten or published, are based on music from operas. This article examines the various ways in which opera dances have been appropriated or reinterpreted, and the aesthetic issues involved. It highlights the way in which these dances fit into a wider network of musical and choreographic practices associated with these arias.
