Marie-Thérèse Mourey

Germanist, Professor Emerita of German Literary and Cultural History at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. Research interests: History, poetics and aesthetics of dance (balls, plays, festivals, operas, ballets) in the European context (16th-18th centuries). Dance culture: cultural transfers, circulation of models (gallantry, civilité). Anthropological-symbolic aspects of dance practices (body rhetoric and semiotics).
Publications on J.G. Noverre (2011), Maria-Theresa's Cultural World (2011), Baroque Dance (2008), Courtly Ballet in Early Modern Germany.

Irene Brandenburg

Music and Dance Scholar, Senior Scientist at the Department of Music and Dance Studies and Curator of the Derra de Moroda Dance Archives at Paris Lodron University, Salzburg. Research interests: Stage dance of the 17th-19th centuries, ballet and opera seria, 18th-century ballet reform (Angiolini), music theater in the 18th century, especially opera and singer research related to Gluck, Mozart, and Handel, editing/music philology, and archival research.

Anne Daye

Anne Daye has been involved in the research of sources and reconstruction of historical dance for many years. Her area of expertise is the 16th and 17th centuries. Having completed her dissertation on dance in the Stuart Masque, she continues to publish work regularly on stage dance in London after 1600. Anne teaches at universities and gives courses to specialists. She is director of teaching and research for the Historical Dance Society.
