Historical dance, the variety of dance forms that has shared in shaping the European cultural area over the last 600 years, is the central theme of our association,

Dance & History e.V. was founded in 2017. Most of our members have been involved in the field of historical dance for many years, mostly as active dancers, but often also in dance research. We all enjoy experiencing "history in motion" and enjoy the great wealth of forms of dance in European art and cultural history.

With our various projects, we focus on three main areas:

• We specifically promote academic and non-academic research in the field.
• We support the communication of current knowledge to dancers, musicians and other artists.
• We want to familiarize as broad a public as possible with the beauty and multifaceted nature of dance, as it has enchanted many generations of humanity.
