Fabbricatore, Arianna. "Gasparo Angiolini et la réforme morale de la danse italienne." European Drama and Performance Studies no. 8 (2017): 143-161.

Abstract:
As part of the European reform process aiming to promote dance in the eighteenth century, the ballet master Gasparo Angiolini distances his poetics from the principles articulated by his French colleague Jean-Georges Noverre. This article studies the ethical and social challenges that inform Angiolini’s reform: influenced by the principes de l’Arcadie, it seems geared toward spreading an image of a transformed Italian theater that reflects morality and the nation’s good taste.
